One can use Google AdWords by following these five easy steps:

The first step to create an Ad is to fill the details about your business. As you can see in the image above, this can be done by providing any Gmail id, you just have to mention the URL of your of the website.

A campaign focusses on a theme or a group of products. To create a campaign, you'll have to set a budget, choose your audience, and write your Ad.

Making a campaign involves the four things as shown in the image above. These four things are elaborated using examples in the following section:

1. Set your Budget

In this field, You can set your budget depending upon your marketing strategy and business needs.This is the amount you are paying to Google to post your ad in the Google advertising network. Your budget specifies how much, on an average, you'd like to spend per day. This amount can be changed at any point of time depending upon any change in your marketing strategy. It is important to note that you're charged only when someone clicks your Ad (PPC-Pay per Click).

2. Select your Audience

The next field lets you select your audience by filling these three:
  • Location: You can choose any country or territories depending upon your business needs and marketing strategy. you can also provide advanced search by selecting or excluding some particular locations e.g. City, State, region or Postal Code.
  • Networks:  You can choose any Google Advertising Network either The Search network which includes Google Search, other Google sites such as Maps and shopping and hundreds of non-Google search partner websites that show AdWords ads matched to search results or the Display network which includes a collection of Google websites, partner sites and mobile sites and apps that show AdWords matched to the content of a given page or the both. But for the starting phase of your, It is always advised to use The Search network only.
  • Keywords: These are the search terms or phrases that may trigger your ad to appear next to search results. Add around 15-20 keywords based on the overall theme of your business or the service you provide. 

3. Set your Bidding Strategy

In this field, You've to provide the most you're willing to pay for a click on your ad. But for a beginner, it is advised not to set bids manually. Instead, Select Adwords option which automatically sets your bids to help you get as many clicks as possible within your budget.

4. Write your Ad

Your Text ad contains four elements:
  • Landing Page: The URL of your websites' home page.
  • Headline1: Provide a Headline that is best suited to your landing page. It is advised to put 1-2 keywords in your headline.
  • Headline2: Headlines can appear on the same or separate lines. Try to write them so that makes sense when read together and separately. 
  • Description: Provide a description of your landing page in not more than 80 words.

Tips for writing your Google Ad:

  • Use a clear call to action like visit us, click here, learn more etc.
  • Include at least one keyword.
  • Capitalize the first letter of every word.
  • Include specific prices and promotions.

After saving your current campaign Ad and continuing, you've to pay by providing different details depending upon your location.

After successfully filling all the details, you need to click on the "Finish and create ad" button to start your campaign.

Once you're done with this, your Ad will start showing on Google advertising network depending upon your location and keywords used.
